Visiting the Capital of Toba Samosir, Balige

This district is the home of many tourist attractions. The most famous tourist spot is the Batak Silalahi Museum. It becomes the center of the allure of Balige. Apart from the museum, Balige has a beautiful location to enjoy the nature. The name is Tara Bunga. It doesn’t take much time to visit this place. You only need to spend 15 minutes of driving. To be exact, it is located in Lumban Bulbul Village. The best transportation is bentor. It will be an amusing trip. It is even better than a car. Most of the visitors are families with kids. Balige also has a stunning waterfall. The name is Siboruon falls. As the name implies, it is located in Siboruon Village. There is a problem, though. Another famous tourist spot in Balige is the floating café. It is situated in Lumban Silintong. Many visitors come from outside the town. As the name implies, this eatery has a unique concept. The place is constructed on the water. You can enjoy lots of foods and drinks here. This place is quite crowded during holidays, so you may expect lots of people in weekends. The food is good and the price is nice. Not to mention the staff is quite friendly. The floating café is a perfect place to restore energy before the next adventure.

How to Get There
From Medan, you can use either a private or rented car. You can directly head to Balige from Kualanamu Airport or main city. The trip takes about 6-7 hours. From Batam, you need to use an airplane. The destination is Silangit Airport. From this airport, you may continue the journey to Balige. It takes about 30 minutes. If you come from Jakarta, you can use Garuda Indonesia Airlines. There is a direct flight to Toba Lake. It takes about 3 hours from Soetta Airport.
